Over 50 kids attended and area coaches taught dribbling, shooting, passing and defensive skills.
The Atlanta Hawks donated gear for the coaches to give out to kids during the clinic.
Dorianne Johnson, the City of Huntsville’s superintendent of recreation, said the clinic was a great way to give back in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
“Pairing it with Black History Month we have so many black athletes and so many awesome athletes that come from the Huntsville City area whether they are black or not it’s just a great way to give back,” said Johnson.
Canned food donations were expected at the clinic with donations going to the Food Bank of North Alabama.
