This alleged activity happened in Carencro on Sunday, February 16. The woman is wanted on three counts of child desertion. We do not know which bar the woman allegedly patronized while her children were outside in the vehicle.
The children were said to be locked up in the car. Carencro Police are working to find Baker. They are asking anyone who might know anything about this person to call the Carencro Police Department at 337-896-6132.
Louisiana law designates that our state law is the following:
Child desertion is the intentional or criminally negligent exposure of a child under the age of ten years, by a person who has the care, custody, or control of the child, to a hazard or danger against which the child cannot reasonably be expected to protect himself, or the desertion or abandonment of such child, knowing or having reason to believe that the child could be exposed to such hazard or danger.
The penalty for child desertion is a fine of no more than $500 and/or imprisonment of six months on each count.
