Woman turns over kids’ sandbox, can’t believe what she finds underneath

A woman looked under her children’s sandbox to find something quite surprising, a litter of tiny animals that she could not identify.

TikTok user @kris10nicole2318 shared her discovery on the app, garnering a staggering 4.6 million views, as well as a slew of comments from other users trying to figure out what the baby animals were.

“Look what I just found under my kid’s sandbox while cleaning it out,” she wrote in the text overlay of the viral clip. She then lifts it up and brings the camera closer to show the litter of baby animals all huddled up together underneath.

The animals appear to be tiny in size, and are pink in color with big black eyes. There are at least eight of them visible in the video, all together in a cluster.

Many animals that are regularly found in yards and gardens give birth to a large number of babies at once. Cats, for example, tend to have between four and six in a litter, according to Pet MD.

Meanwhile, rats can have as many as 12 in one litter, while rabbits can have as many as 14.

In the comments section on the post, the TikTok creator revealed: “I was thinking mice or bunnies, but they have tails so I’m guessing mice. They must have just been born.”

Hundreds of people took to the comments section of the TikTok user’s video to share their thoughts on that these tiny baby animals might be.

“Baby bunnies? Or squirrels?” said @rachel_petunia_coop.

Meanwhile, another user called Heather suggested that they are squirrels because “squirrels make nests like that.”

Pam Ella commented: “They could be rats. I would make sure you knew what they were before saving them. You don’t want a rat infestation. Or mice.”

Furrell shared: “Rabbits most likely. I have babies that look just like this that were just born a couple days ago.”

However, Vicky wrote: “I could 100 percent be wrong, but it looks like baby mice. We had a mouse problem one time and found the babies and they looked just like this.”

While many people shared their theories on what the little animals could be, others left comments that expressed concern for the creatures.

“I would put the sandbox back so that they are protected and check on them again, hopefully the mom will come back for them,” said Mallarie.

T Evans commented: “Is there an update? Did mum come back to care for them? If nests are disturbed by human hands, then sometimes mum may not return so they may need help.”
