Guide: Forged of Star Stuff Avowed quest walkthrough

As you explore The Living Lands in Avowed, you’ll eventually stumble across a rare mineral called Starmetal, triggering the quest Forged of Star Stuff, where you must seek out someone who can work with this rare and valuable material. There is only one smith across the game’s four regions that will be able to make anything out of the stuff, but you get no direction as to where to find them.

We’ll walk you through this quest, showing you where to find the person who can work the Starmetal and what you can make with it.

Where to Find a Starmetal Smith

When you first get the quest you’ll be initially directed to Dawnshore, where you’re expected to talk to the smith there to get a clue, however, you can skip this step entirely if you know where to look.

Instead, speak to Forgemaster Dela in Solace Keep, the main town in the Galawain’s Tusks region. This is the last region you visit during the game, so you’ll have to progress the main story to get there, but it’s worth the wait once you can finally craft Starmetal weapons.

What Should You Craft With the Starmetal?

Dela will give you two options as to what to do with the metal. You can either get a sword or an arquebus. Both are great weapons for that point in the game, so which you choose is entirely down to your play style. If you like being a ranger then the Moonstrike Arquebus is a fantastic high-damage weapon, while the Meteor Blade sword is a reliable melee weapon for fighters.

There are multiple Starmetal fragments throughout the Living Lands though, so it is possible to get both. You can also use more Starmetal fragments to upgrade whichever weapon you choose though, making it even stronger.
