Egging On is a climbing game created by Poland-based indie studio Egobounds. In this adventure, you take control of an egg that doesn’t want to be brought to the shop or turned into someone’s meal to climb to the top of the world. Roll and jump in various themed challenging climbing environments and carefully crafted levels, and don’t fall to crack yourself into a slime of yolk.
The key part of the gameplay is to master the egg physics. The shape of the egg means it won’t roll simply as expected as a round ball, so precise control is how you can guarantee a safe journey. The way it moves reminds me of a drunk guy trying to go straight but keeps falling.
Jumping on the egg’s tip might help you reach a higher location, so that would be helpful when you’re faced with a bigger gap. Yet, higher doesn’t always mean better — you could be hit down by a roof and fall pretty hard. If, unfortunately, you become a slippery yolk, wait for the shell to regenerate to continue.
There are more interactive challenges than simple gaps along the way, like some seesaws, chainsaws, or unfriendly roosters who might throw you away to a random place. There are no checkpoints in the game, so every time you fall down, you’ll have to climb back again.
