Father Fred Foundation launches annual food drive to support growing community needs

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich,. (WPBN/WGTU) – – The Father Fred Foundation is helping individuals and families with essential needs during their annual food drive.

Until February 23, the foundation is collecting non-perishable food donations, cash or online donations.

The monetary donations will allow them to purchase fresh items like eggs, milk, meats and fresh produce.

Staff members are noticing the need for food assistance continues to grow as they have increased their budget.

“The need just continues to be high and with the price of food, our budgets is stretched. Believe it or not we spend on average a $100,000 a month on food so that gives you an idea of how the need is and how many people need help,” said Erin Krueger, Communications Manager for the Father Fred Foundation.

The foundation will collect non-perishable items at Traverse City’s area Tom’s, Oleson’s and Oryana stores.

You can also drop off donations at Team Bob’s Heating Cooling Plumbing at Williams Chevrolet and at Fox Motors.
