We’re bringing you our favorite recipes to celebrate Italian Food Day, which is Thursday 13 February. We have everything from Tuscan pasta to homemade ravioli, and even a hearty salad. Plus, we’re creating our own Calzone!

Our first idea for dinner came from Andrea Messina. She runs gourmet grocery ‘Joe and Sons’ and learned Italian cooking from her Grandmother, preserving her handwritten recipes in a book titled ‘At The Table’. She took us on a trip to Tuscany for Chicken With Sun-Dried Tomatoes And Spinach. Click below to watch the full episode, and click here for a printer-friendly version of her recipe.

Next we’re rolling up some fresh ravioli, thanks to Dan Bavaro. His family-owned Bavaro’s Neopolitan Pizzerias are in Tampa, St Pete and Sarasota, and he joined us to show how he does his dough. Click below to watch the full episode, and click here for a printer-friendly version of his recipe.

Now, a dish originating from Umbria. This was brought to us by Chef Kaytlin Dangaran, executive chef at ‘Bistro’ at the Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College. She got her start at West Village upscale Italian restaurant ‘Dell’Anima’. She joined us to make a bread salad called ‘Panzanella’. Finally, a recipe from yours truly – with a little help from my son Holden! He joined me to make one of our favorite dinners, and we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do. It’s an Easy Calzone. Click below to watch the full episode, and click here for a printer-friendly version of our recipe.
