BENTON and FRANKLIN COUNTIES, Wash. – February 11 marks National 211 Day, celebrating the 24/7 hotline that assists millions across the U.S. and Canada with disaster, food, and healthcare needs.

According to United Way of Benton and Franklin Counties, this area ranks in the top 10 for housing request rates and top 5 for food assistance requests.

Locally, the 2-1-1 service has responded to over 8,500 requests, with nearly 30% related to housing.

Calls for food assistance reveal that almost 80% of requests originate from Yakima, Benton, and Franklin Counties.
