COLUMBIA, S.C. — It’s finally happening, Columbia! A food hall is coming to the BullStreet District.
Cason Development Group announced Monday, February 10, the firm is partnering with Four Oaks Property Group and Hughes Development Corp. to create an open-air food hall and community hub called GATHER COLA. The project is already underway at Sabal and Freed streets and will sit adjacent to The Lawn, between the Bennet and BullStreet apartments and Westlawn office along Freed Street.
GATHER COLA is patterned after GATHER GVL, an outdoor food hall in Greenville, SC, that was named 5th Best Food Hall in America by USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards.
Planned features of GATHER COLA include:
- spaces for nine restaurants/food vendors focusing on local and international cuisine
- two spaces for bars: one ground-level and one rooftop
- private event space for special gatherings
- pop-up retail spaces for the area’s micro-retailers
- outdoor gathering area with space for live entertainment
- 8,500 square feet of versatile office space across two floors that can accommodate multiple users or be rented as a single unit.
“GATHER COLA will be the ultimate gathering spot for families and friends – the perfect place for co-workers to eat when everyone wants something different, and the perfect place for friends and families to get together on nights and weekends. We are excited that Columbia’s first food hall will be at BullStreet, and even more excited that it’s GATHER,” aid Robert Hughes, president and CEO of Hughes Development Corp.
Food vendors, retailers, and businesses interested in being a part of GATHER COLA are encouraged to contact Holly Buxton with Cason Development Group at 803-550-3145 for more information.
The grand opening of GATHER COLA is planned for late 2025.
