Building Hope Summit County has launched an outdoor sports injury support group for outdoor enthusiasts who are seeking an encouraging space to recover together.

Every two weeks, the support group offers conversation-based sessions to connect those with sports injuries with peer support, according to a news release from Building Hope. The support group meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every other Wednesday from Feb. 5. to April 16 at the Summit County Community and Senior Center in Frisco.

The support group can help those with sports injuries get connected to resources for mental health and physical recovery, improve coping skills, find people with similar experiences and get back out there, the release states.

There will also be a monthly social wellness group activity for those participating in the support group with activities like AcuDetox, tai chi, guest speakers, a mocktail sip and painting, the release states. Dates for these activities have yet to be announced.
