TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Families looking to save on children’s essentials can find discounted items at the semi-annual Just Between Friends (JBF) sale, with prices up to 90% off retail. The general sale runs from Thursday, February 6 through Saturday, February 8.
The event opens at 10:00 a.m.
The pop-up shop offers more than 100,000 items for infants, kids, and teenagers, from clothing and toys to books and cribs.
Beyond affordability, safety is a top priority.
Shawna Wilfert, JBF Tucson organizer, emphasized their rigorous inspection process.
“We’re checking items to make sure there’s not tears in anything like a pack and play. We know that it’s safe, it doesn’t have any holes in the siding,” she said.
The sale strictly prohibits items with potential safety risks. Used pacifiers, homemade items, and products with active safety alerts are just some of the items not permitted. A dedicated safety and recall expert reviews all items to ensure up-to-date information on potential hazards.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports at least two children’s items are recalled weekly. JBF tracks these recalls and removes any flagged products.
Wilfert advises shoppers to also prepare strategically.
“Make a list of what you’re needing, think about what you’re going to need for the next six months… Measure your kids. Think about upcoming birthdays and holidays,” she said.
