Greenville Food Lion reopens after Tuesday fire

The Food Lion on 10th Street in Greenville has reopened after a fire on Tuesday caused the store to close down and be evaluated.

Shoppers were asked to leave the building when a fire broke out Tuesday afternoon. Greenville Fire/Rescue was called to the location near the intersection of 10th Street and Greenville Boulevard.

According to Greenville Fire/Rescue crews, the store was evacuated by Food Lion staff, and there were no injuries to employees or firefighters.

A Food Lion spokesperson released the following on Saturday, June 28:

“Following an electrical fire that caused no injuries or damage, maintenance is now complete at the Food Lion located at 3136 W. 10th St., Greenville, N.C. The store reopened at 7 p.m. Saturday and will return to regular stores hours from 7 a.m. – 12 a.m. We are excited to welcome our neighbors back with fresh, affordable groceries you can count on. We appreciate our customers’ patience as we restock the store and return to full operations.”
