Today on GMN Sierra Naess chats with Megan Lidd, a recreational specialist to talk all about this fun summer event.
“Story and Play,” a free weekly program from Duluth Parks and Recreation and the Duluth Public Library, brings kids and families to local parks for stories, crafts, and outdoor fun.
The event travels to a new park each Monday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. A special Saturday edition will be held this weekend at Chester Park.
“Story and Play is our weekly partnership program… a chance to read stories and play,” said program coordinator Megan Lidd.
Story time, led by library staff from 9:30 to 10 a.m., includes songs, books, and movement for children ages 0–5. From 10 to 11:30 a.m., Parks and Rec hosts playtime with crafts, sports equipment, and games.
“We always have a different craft project… and games to just get kids moving throughout the morning,” Lidd said.
Families can bring blankets or use ones provided. For park locations and more info, visit Duluth Parks and Rec online.
