Sick of the kids already? I don’t blame you! I grew up with 9 siblings, and the summers were ROUGH on my parents. We’d spend most days hanging around public pools, but unfortunately, nobody in Lubbock is doing that this summer. We don’t have any pools!
Luckily, there’s a FREE alternative to swimming, available at Premiere Cinemas all the way through July!
2025 Summer Kids Fest At Premiere Cinemas
Every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 am and 11 am, there are free movie showings for kids at Premiere Cinemas! They’ve got a bunch of great movies listed, too!
Here’s where you can take the kids to see for FREE this summer:
- Sonic 3, June 11th & 12th
- Transformers One, June 18th & 19th
- The Wild Robot, June 25th & 26th
- Despicable Me 4, July 2nd & 3rd
- The Garfield Movie, July 9th & 10th
- King Fu Panda 4, July 16th & 17th
- Paw Patrol Mighty Movie, July 23rd & 24th

There are some pretty great films on that list! I’d have to say my personal favorite is Harold And The Purple Crayon. That movie cracks me up! But, I’ve seen ALL of these, so I clearly have a thing for kids’ movies. I don’t even have children. I’m the child.
Hopefully, you’ll have a chance to catch one of these free films. It’s a bummer we can’t all jump in the pool together, but at least the theater has air conditioning!
