Giving back to kids battling cancer

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – He may be small, but his mission is mighty. Just weeks after his fourth birthday, Colton Stanley was diagnosed with cancer and now he is helping kids battling pediatric cancer.

Colton Stanley and his family are giving back to other families through Colton Strong Kids and now, they are getting a Helping Hand from 13 Action News and the Yark Automotive Group.

We first met Colton Stanley last February when he was undergoing treatment at the ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital. Now, he has a non-profit that helps others.

Colton Stanley was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma at the age of four.

When 13 Action News met him in 2024, he was one of the kids benefiting from the wrap-around services that would receive funding from the Greater Toledo Home Giveaway. Since then, Colton Stanley has started doing giveaways of his own, dropping off toys, gift cards and care packages to other kids going through the same type of battle.

Colton Stanley’s mom, Corri Stanley, explains that she and her husband, Edward, launched a non-profit called Colton Strong Kids.

“Our supporters and sponsors and people who kind of believe in our mission, we’ve been able to financially assist 10 families, actually, since we started in June. Give out thousands of dollars in gift cards to families in need around the holidays,” Corri Stanley said.

Colton and his younger brother, Connor, are not done yet. They raise money for Colton Strong Kids with the help of Midwest Monsters at Catch 22 Baseball in Maumee.

The Yark Automotive Group and 13 Action News are now helping Colton and his organization by presenting them with a check for $1,300.
