WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank distributed goods to the community through its mobile food pantry program on Friday, June 20.
The program, sponsored by the United Regional Health Care System, hands out canned and fresh products to anyone in the Wichita Falls area.
Raequan Baldwin drives the mobile food pantry and said that the team serves many residents each day.
“We serve about at this location about two hundred and fifty families, sometimes it varies it can be two hundred but we’re all starting to get more because this is a new location for us, it’s a better location for all the families and we also chose a different time where it’s the afternoon so if kids have daycare or after school events they can come here and still get food.“ he said.
Robert Davis, a warehouse associate at the food bank, said that their goal is to help people and ensure that no one goes to bed hungry.
“Anybody who is interested or I mean for anybody who may have a neighbor who might be in need send them our way, we are a service we want to help that is our job and our priority, we just want to make sure that everybody gets a chance to eat breakfast, lunch, and or dinner before they go to bed that night.“ he said.
The program serves twelve counties, and food bank employees encourage residents to come out to the different locations and sites to obtain the food they need. You can follow the food bank’s Facebook page to see where they will show up next.
