MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – The Marquette Maritime Museum invited kids to celebrate Art Week at the lighthouse on Monday.
The City of Marquette is celebrating Art Week all this week. It’s a chance for residents to engage with the arts through various performances, exhibits, and activities. Kids got in on the action Monday by painting the Lake Superior shoreline at the Maritime Museum’s Plein Air Workshop.
Aegis MacIvor-Andersen, a Marquette 11-year-old, has been coming to the event every year since she was four years old.
“I love being by the water and I love art, so it’s a great combination of being able to be by the water and painting,” said MacIvor-Andersen.
Even though this is Marquette’s final Art Week, organizers say they’ll be continuing the event for years to come. You can check out a full list of Marquette Art Week events here.
