OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) – An Oklahoma lawmaker has announced a new study on the potential harm of food dyes.

Senator Kristen Thompson says the study comes in response to various companies removing artificial dyes from their products.

She says it should allow lawmakers to have more information when evaluating policy options for food and health.

The details of the study have not been announced, but Thompson says it will be assigned to a committee by July 3.
