TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – ABC Home & Commercial Services is hosting a food drive in partnership with KLTV and the East Texas Food Bank.
Jennifer Jenkins, a director for ABC Home & Commercial Services, said one in five East Texans now face food insecurity, and they are launching their annual summer food drive to help families in need.
“We feel very passionate about trying to help out the community in this way,” Jenkins said. “We do a lot of community service. We do toy drives at Christmas time, and one of the other things is we do partner with the East Texas Food Bank in providing free pest control for them. That would be a budgeted line item for them, and they can take that money that they would spend on pest control and utilize that to help their organization.”
She said they try to make giving back a part of their company culture.
Throughout the month of June, East Texans are encouraged to support the drive by donating nonperishable food items. Donations can be given directly to ABC technicians during service appointments or dropped off at ABC Home & Commercial Services, 3307 Chandler Highway in Tyler.
