Summer Food Coupons 2025: Who is eligible to receive an additional $120 per child this year?

The United States government has launched the “SUN Bucks” initiative, known as Summer EBT, which is a plan to combat child hunger and help families with children who have few resources and need financial assistance to purchase food during the school recess, considering that their children will not receive lunches at school and during the vacations, each family must take care of that.

The main objective of the Summer Food Coupons 2025 is to provide families with the assurance that their children will have access to healthy food and will have the necessary resources to achieve this during the summer holidays

It is worth noting that many schools provide food at lower prices or even free of charge, so parents are reassured knowing that the children will be well fed, but during vacations they do not have this and this is where the problem arises

The amount of the 2025 summer food stamps will be $120 and they can be used at various authorized retail grocery stores, offering a practical solution to meet children’s needs, as the government emphasizes the importance of nutrition in children who are in the process of development.

Who is eligible to receive the Summer 2025 food stamps?

Children whose families already receive assistance through programs such as SNAP (food stamps), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) or FDPIR (Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations) are automatically enrolled in this assistance program.

On the other hand, there is also automatic enrollment for school meals, where children who participate in the National School Lunch Program or the School Breakfast Program, and whose family income makes them eligible for free or reduced-price school meals, can also be enrolled.

How do I enroll for the 2025 Summer Food Stamps?

In most cases, enrollment is automatic, such as if your household already receives benefits such as SNAP (food stamps), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) or FDPIR (Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations).

In addition, this plan is for children between the ages of 6 and 18 and they will be automatically enrolled in the SUN Bucks program. You do not need to do anything additional. Benefits will be loaded onto your existing EBT card or a new one will be sent to you.

The benefit will also be automatic if the child is part of a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or the School Breakfast Program (SBP).
