
EYOTA, Minn. (KTTC) – The Eyota Food Pantry was reportedly broken into between Sunday evening and Monday morning, according to a post on the Eyota Food Pantry and Thrift Shop Facebook page.
The theft reportedly happened between 4:30 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday.
Eyota Food Pantry says approximately 1,000 pounds of food were stolen.
“Our meat freezer was emptied, the shelves were cleared out of tuna, chicken, peanut butter, white rice, cases of mustard, ketchup and green beans were taken,” the post said.
A report was filed with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the sheriff’s tip line at 507-328-6760.
Food and financial donations can be made online or in person, with volunteers available on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Eyota Food Pantry says for those who receive food from it, it is confident there will be plenty of food available by the time doors open on Thursday.
