A woman who believed she could never have children has experienced a profound transformation, leading to two miraculous outcomes with her partner.
MJ Renshaw shared her incredible journey in an Instagram reel, which began with her sharing her fertility struggles with her then-new partner. Over time, with healing and a more peaceful living environment, she revealed how she eventually came to be pregnant twice, now enjoying a peaceful life with her family. Renshaw, 34, told Newsweek about her journey and what she has learned about her body in the process.
She said her fertility journey used to be long and uncertain.

“I never had a regular menstrual cycle and sometimes would go years without one, so my doctor assumed [pregnancy] wouldn’t be possible for me,” Renshaw said. Despite various attempts to restore her cycle, the turning point came from an unexpected source: “It wasn’t until I tried to heal my nervous system and heal my trauma that my cycle returned.”
Sharing her fertility reality her new partner at the time was daunting.
“We had only been dating a few months, and I was extremely nervous,” Renshaw said. “He is a bit older, and I knew he wanted and loved kids. We were on a dog walk and I remember telling him—and, without skipping a beat, he told me it didn’t matter and that he just loved me. He never made me feel broken, and supported me in anything I wanted.”
The role of nervous system healing, breathwork and nightly rituals was “everything” in her journey. Having studied osteopathy, Renshaw initially focused on the physical aspects of health, such as eating “right,” movement and taking supplements. But she soon discovered a missing piece.
“When I started looking at my emotional well-being and healing old wounds from childhood, a lot of my health issues reduced a lot,” she said. “It was the missing peace to my healing journey … I did breathwork every night and imagined a baby in my womb, and, before I knew it, one was really there.”
Loss, and Then a Miracle Pregnancy
The moment Renshaw first found out she was pregnant was filled with shock and immense joy.
“I remember doing the test with [my partner] because I had been puking all day. We were both in a lot of shock but incredibly happy,” she said. But, tragically, they faced a loss: “We unfortunately lost our first baby at 12 weeks, and I told him I didn’t want to try again.”
Her partner’s support continued, though, leading to unexpected blessings.
“He bought us a house close to nature, and we ended up having two ‘oopsie’ babies back-to-back,” Renshaw said. “I just remember how tight we hugged every time we got a positive. It felt surreal.”
Now, Renshaw advocates for nervous system healing as the hidden key to her menstrual and fertility issues—crucially, with the backing of her partner, who understood they might not have kids from day one.
“I never thought I could even have babies, and for some reason, assumed no one would want to marry me because of it,” Renshaw wrote in her Instagram caption. “We used to hold hands and do breathwork and meditate every night before bed. I’d put my other hand on my womb and try to imagine light healing it.
“I’ve seen so much magic happen with healing when people slow down, tend to their nervous systems and use breathwork.”
