Kate Hudson loves being a mom. The Running Point star is a smiley parent to three kids: Ryder, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Robinson; Bingham, her son with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy; and Rani Rose, her daughter with current fiancé Danny Fujikawa. “I’ve got multiple dads, I’ve got kids all over the place,” she joked during a January 2021 appearance on Sunday Today With Willie Geist. It seems the singer couldn’t be happier with her patchwork family, whom she proudly shows off all over her Instagram. She gave some insight into her circle of love during a November 2022 interview with The Sunday Times: “It might not look traditional from the outside, but on the inside I feel like we’re killing it. The unit that I’ve created with three children with three different fathers is a seriously strong unit, and it’s ours.”

Having kids only seems to have expanded Hudson’s world, and she isn’t ruling out the possibility of more. “It’s a weird thing to think, like, ‘Oh, no. I’m done having kids,’ when you love having kids,” she said during a March 2025 appearance on Kylie Kelce’s podcast Not Gonna Lie.
She also spoke about the topic back in 2020 while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I don’t know if I’m done,” she said. “I’m in that place of like, right now, Rani is at that age where you’re like, ‘I want another baby.’ But once she gets like 4 or 5, you’re like, ‘I feel like my life is kinda back a little bit [and] they’re kinda in a groove.’ It’s weird…it’s like a window.”
While only time will tell if Hudson welcomes more mini-mes, here is everything she’s shared about her three children.

Ryder Russell Robinson’s story starts with Hudson and Chris Robinson’s whirlwind love. The actress and the Black Crowes frontman met at a party in New York City in May 2000, and they quickly got serious by moving in together a few days later. A few months after that, on New Year’s Eve, they tied the knot at her mom, Goldie Hawn’s house in Old Snowmass, Colorado. The pair officially entered parenthood on January 7, 2004 with the birth of their son, Ryder. Although the couple announced their split in August 2006 and finalized their divorce in October 2007, they continue to co-parent their son.

Ryder’s middle name is a sweet tribute to Hudson’s stepfather, Kurt Russell, who has been Hawn’s partner since 1983. A family name is not the only thing Ryder inherited, though: It appears he is following in his parents’ footsteps as a musician who plays guitar in the band Codependence.
He celebrated a major milestone in June 2022, when he graduated from high school, and he’s made a few high-profile appearances with his mom. That includes sitting front row at the Max Mara Resort 2025 in Venice, Italy, in June 2024. As for romance, Ryder was linked to Iris Apatow (daughter of Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow) from 2022 to 2023.
In March 2024, Hudson released a song called “Live Forever,” which she said was about the “absolutely consuming joy Ryder was for me” when he came along. “I was so young when Ryder was born, I look back and marvel; I was almost a kid, too, so we were able to fall in love with growing up at the same time. And when you listen to the song and watch, it sweeps you up like someone’s arms around you,” she continued. The accompanying music video features home videos of her son over the years.

Bingham Hawn Bellamy’s story begins with Hudson and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy. The two met at Coachella Music Festival in April 2010, and the Almost Famous star found out she was pregnant two months later. Bellamy proposed to Hudson in April 2011, just months before they welcomed their son, Bingham, on July 9, 2011, in Los Angeles, California.

However, after a three-year engagement, the couple called it quits in December 2014 — though they, too, continue to co-parent. “One thing that Matt said to me, which I loved, is, ‘I just want to make sure that Bing feels like he’s gaining something, not losing something,’” she said during an April 2021 interview with Women’s Health. “I think it’s even bonded us closer — me, Matt, Elle, and Danny — because we have to trust that we’re protecting each other.”
Following a trend, Bingham’s name contains several family tributes: His first moniker is Bellamy’s mom’s maiden name, and it’s also a nod to Kurt Russell’s dad, Bing. Hawn, of course, comes from his grandmother.
Bingham also has some musical genes — he plays the drums — and he’s quite an active kid with an interest in baseball and skateboarding. There may also be a finance career in his future, as Hudson revealed during a September 2021 appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers that he loves the stock market. “I don’t know how it happened,” she said, adding that he asked for stocks for his 11th birthday. “He follows them. He wakes up, he looks on his apps and follows his stocks, and he makes good money. He loves his stocks.”

Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa is the bundle of joy that Hudson and Danny Fujikawa welcomed in 2018. After 15 years of friendship, Hudson and the musician struck up a romance in early 2017, and Rani came along on October 2 of the following year. After five years together, Fujikawa got down on one knee in September 2021, though the pair still have yet to tie the knot.

Following the pattern, Rani was given a family name: Her moniker comes from Fujikawa’s dad, Ron, who passed away in 2012.
The couple are in baby bliss with their sweet girl, who Hudson gushed is “really special” during an August 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight. “She’s just this loving, funny — she’s hilarious, oh, my God — and she likes to be funny. You know, she’s goofy.”

Rani has taken on a diverse set of interests, including cooking, fashion, beauty, and home improvement. She helped her mom fix up her future mother-in-law’s backyard in a December 2022 episode of HGTV’s Celebrity IOU. “I love gardening at my house, too,” she said, shovel in hand.
Hudson celebrated Rani’s 6th birthday with a sweet Instagram tribute: “My beautiful, fun, courageous, caring, empathetic, silly, happy lady! 6 years have flown 🦋 we celebrate your joie de vivre! Today and everyday! Libra Lady 🎂🎈Happy happy birthday 🎊,” she wrote on a carousel of adorable photos.
