Food Bank of Siouxland raises $51,000 at weekend fundraiser

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The Food Bank of Siouxland says its 3rd annual Siouxland Food Festival was a massive success.

This year’s festival raised a total of $51,496 for the Food Bank, a record haul for the event.

The Food Bank says more than 500 people turned out at the Marriott Riverfront in South Sioux City last Saturday to sample food from nearly a dozen local vendors.

“The support from our community means so much to so many. The Food Bank of Siouxland’s agency partners are experiencing a record high number of visits to pantries. To know that our community sees this and shows up is so meaningful. This was the best year yet for the Siouxland Food Festival, with our highest attendance ever, and we’re already looking forward to next year!” said Valerie Petersen, Associate Executive Director at the Food Bank of Siouxland.

All the money raised helps the Food Bank supply dozens of food pantries throughout Northwest Iowa and Northeast Nebraska.
