
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KAUZ) – A final tally after the conclusion of Oklahoma’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive found that state residents donates over half a million pounds of food – enough to provide over 760,000 meals.
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma also reported that the drive netted an additional $118,454 in donations. Oklahomans left nonperishable food items by their mailboxes for pickup by postal workers. In the Oklahoma City area, over 370 volunteers helped sort donations.

Since its inaugural year in Oklahoma of 1992, the annual drive has collected over 14 million pounds of donations. This year, letter carriers in 144 communities participated in the drive.
