Games, music, crafts and hands-on fun for all ages are promised for families that check out this year’s Kids’ Day in Wooster.
The Main Street Wooster event will be held noon-3 p.m. Saturday, June 14, outside the Wayne County Public Library.
“We like to call it the true kickoff to summer,” said Kerri Manley, one of the organizers. “It’s really just a fun day for families to experience together and it’s all free.”
What to know
When: Noon-3 p.m. Saturday, June 14
Where: Wayne County Public Library lawn, 220 W. Liberty St., Wooster
Cost: Free
Activities: Games, music, face painting, balloon animals, crafts, and more
Kids’ Day features face painting, balloon animals and interactive booths hosted by local businesses and community organizations.
Creativity is encouraged at the booths, with some are offering movie character meet-and-greets, while others plan games, giveaways and craft projects.
Though the lineup changes from year to year, the goal remains the same − to make summer memories.
No matter the age, there’s something for everyone in the family
“The businesses really go all out,” Manley said. “Whether your child is a toddler or in middle school, there’s something for them.”
Families are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, although many booths will be handing out water and light refreshments.
The event is pedestrian-friendly, but downtown Wooster will be bustling due to the No Kings rally at Public Square 2-4 p.m. Kids’ Day visitors may want to allow extra time for parking.
Manley said she isn’t concerned about any overlap.
“Since Kids’ Day is geared toward families and young children, we don’t expect much crossover with the rally crowd,” she said. “Everyone is welcome, and we’re just looking forward to a fun day outside.”
