MEMPHIS, Tenn. – There won’t be many cats meowing over hungry bellies in area shelters and rescues Tuesday night.
That’s due to a “record-breaking” donation of five full pallets of canned cat food that Memphis Animal Services (MAS) recently received from pet supplies company Birdie & Louie. “Their passion for giving back to the community shone brightly with this incredible gift, and we were not only grateful, but deeply inspired,” MAS said. “So in true Southern fashion, we decided to show some hospitality–and pay it forward, Memphis style, with a little grit and grind.”
MAS reached out to other shelters and rescues in the area, and found several that were willing to partner with them to take on some of the cat food, including:
- 901 Feral Project
- Mewtopia Cat Rescue
- Perfect Match Cat Rescue
- West Memphis Animal Shelter
- Horn Lake Animal Shelter
- Tipton County Animal Shelter
“It was a heartfelt effort and a proud moment of community collaboration,” MAS said.
