MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) -Brookdale Midland Senior Living Community got a head start with the Father’s Day celebration today.
They hosted a car show for fathers in the community.
The organizers got a head start with the Father’s Day celebration to have a better turnout and for the community to have fun.
“It brings back memories of working on the cars with my dad and is really a good thing to see, and it just makes you reminisce about the good old days,” said Garry Boone, Brookdale Midland Senior Resident.
Dads in the Midland community brought their old classic hot rods to the car show.
The car show allows dads to look back at the past.
“With all the car shows and the hot rods. I think it is very memorable for them to look back in their past and see that those cars are still out here and they still matter,” said Annette Aguirre, Marketing Manager of Trinity Personal Assistant Services.
Behind the history, fathers and their sons enjoy working on the cars, and this event serves to spend time together to build memories.
“Bringing them here to look at them. They might not work on them anymore, but they can enjoy what they look like now and bring history to the present day for the youth to look at them now,” said Elizabeth Karvonen, Marketing and Sales Director, Brookdale Midland Senior
The car show brings a spotlight to the senior residents who are living at Brookdale Midland Senior Community.
“It brings them to light and it’s a shining light for them to know they still matter, and that’s how it should be,” said Annette Aguirre.
