TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo woman was arrested after police allege she broke into a house considered “not fit for human habitation” and lived there with four children for days.
Pamela Boursaw, 31, was arrested on a criminal trespassing charge and four counts of endangering children. Police affidavits allege she entered a boarded up house on Streicher Street that city code inspectors had deemed inhabitable for humans. The lock on the door was broken and there was a notice from the city about the conditions from May 20.
Officers said they found Boursaw and four children, ranging in ages from four to 13, living in the home with no running water or electricity for about four days. One officer noticed there was no sufficient food in the home and that there were rodent droppings throughout the space.
Charging documents allege Boursaw acknowledged the conditions weren’t safe for the kids. Court records did not spell out what’s next for the children.
She was booked into the Lucas County Jail late Friday night. Boursaw is scheduled to face a judge on Monday.
