“That is an ultimate dream of mine where I can encourage girls and guys to take this culinary thing very seriously. You know, we eat for sustainability. We eat because we have to live, but I want people to know that this is a true passion. Not only that, this is a career. You can make something out of nothing, and as long as you’re passionate about it, you are going to succeed,” Chef Niema said.

“And I encourage everyone, and maybe one day I’m able to open up a culinary school named after me. I would love that. I would love that. You know, that’s one thing I wanna’ do, but in the meantime, I make sure I instill power into others and let them know that they can shine too. They can do just like I did: left Sierra Leone as a refugee and traveled to different countries and made a life for myself. And here I am today in Shreveport, Louisiana, the executive chef of Abby Singer’s Bistro, killing the game. Imagine that. You can do it too.”
