Lawton Food Bank short-staffed, asks community for help

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – The Lawton Food Bank is short-staffed and is reaching out to the community for help.

If you have a few hours to spare, you can come lend a hand over at the food bank.

Whether you’re helping with food distribution, stocking shelves, or assisting clients, every little bit makes a big difference, according to officials.

“Right now, we just do not have a lot of help with making sure that these people get served in a timely manner, so we’re looking for help from our community to make sure that we can get everything in and organized and get our community members served in a timely manner,” said Mac Lechel, Executive Director for the Lawton Food Bank.

Volunteers need to wear appropriate clothes and closed-toed shoes.

Volunteers 15 years old or younger must be under the supervision of adults.

If you want to volunteer your time, you can call (580) 353-7994.
