The fourth annual Live Your Dash auto show in Fairfield, a fundraiser for the Trysten Fellers Memorial Fund, on May 31 exceeded expectations, according to event organizer Jason Stott in a June 1 interview.
Trysten Fellers, 21, was murdered on May 14, 2021. The memorial fund was developed in memory and presents scholarships to seniors in Teton County every spring. The students must be attending any trade school to receive the scholarship. The fund has given 15 scholarships over three years for a total of $27,000.
Stott said the auto show is a way to contribute to the fund and support students through trade school. The preliminary funds raised from the auto show were $24,900.
“We wanted to do something Trysten wanted,” Stott said. “He liked everything big and loud, and loved everything with wheels. It was a way to keep his memory alive.”
Stott was a family friend of the Fellers for years and worked with Trysten the final year of his life. He said Trysten was a good person and a friend to him.
Stott said the auto show had about 100 entries with special appearances from the Outlaw Country and Optimus Prime semi-trucks. The entries included some from Livingston, Havre, Cascade County, Teton County and one from Alaska.
“The turnout was wonderful,” Stott said. “The community showed up and we are tremendously blessed. It seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves, and it was a fun family day for everyone.”
Stott said the turnout was better than last year, when it was held the same day as the Cruisin’ the Drag car show in Great Falls. He said the community participated well in the silent auction, the 50/50 drawing and supported the food vendors.
Stott thanked the town of Fairfield, 7 Electric, the vendors, Nikki Gulick for supplying trophies, AJ Concrete Pumping for the flag display over main street, Mandy with Teton Tunes for music and audio and many others.
