ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCIV) — The City of Isle of Palms Recreation Department is offering kids an opportunity to gain hands-on outdoor education this summer through their birding program.
According to the organizers, this program is focused on providing fun and educational ways for kids to get excited about the Lowcountry’s birds.
Kids enrolled in the program will be guided through the wilderness by expert birder and owner of Holy City Birding, Charles Donnelly.
Donnelly will teach the young explorers live birding techniques, including how to identify birds visually and by sounds.

In addition to the four-week onsite program, participants will also receive a twelve-month Holy City Birding Kids Birding Membership.
The membership program teaches kids a new bird every month and inspires them to get outside to Look, Listen and Learn.
The program will be designed for ages 7 through 12 and held on June 4, 11, 18, and 25, from 8:30 a.m. from 10 a.m.
