GRAYSON, Ky. (WSAZ) – One lucky Food Fair shopper will receive free groceries for a whole year.
Jennie Sammons won a drawing at the Food Fair in Grayson.
The promotion was part of Food Fair’s 58th Anniversary Sale.
The prize is estimated at a $13,000 value.
It doesn’t only apply to food items.
Sammons said that it will mainly help her with paper towels, toilet paper and laundry detergent.
It will allow her family to stock up on these household items.
She also said the prize will take pressure off her budget and won’t only benefit her household.
“We’re on a fixed income, my husband and I,” Sammons said. “So, this really helps out a whole lot. My church will benefit from my winnings. I go to Fellowship Christian Baptist Church, and they will benefit from my winnings also.”
This win brings peace of mind and a full pantry.
Sammons said her family is cheering her on.
“I’m from a large family,” she said. “I have 12 siblings still living. My parents had 18 children and I’m number 17 down that list. So, they’re all excited for me.”
She was one of two winners selected.
