Youth and Family Services is partnering with Rushmore Tramway Adventures in Keystone for a free day of adventure.
The adventure park is hosting more than a hundred kids and staff from YFS Girls Inc. and Middle School Programs on June 6.
The day is meant to give kids enrolled in those programs a chance to experience the Black Hills — something organizers say their families might not have the means or transportation to do.
YFS leaders said around 85 percent of kids enrolled in its programming are living in poverty and qualify for some form of assistance.
Organizers said park activities encourage children to interact with each other; work on team building, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills, while also having fun trying new activities they may not be able to experience otherwise.
