Lake City residents gather at annual food truck festival

Lake City led its annual food truck festival Saturday.

Hundreds of people filled the village green for Lake City’s fourth annual food festival.

There was seafood, soul food, barbeque, and desserts on Henry Street.

Residents came to eat and fellowship with friends. One resident, Rechelle Jones, said everyone should come and enjoy.

“Come to the truck rodeo here at Lake City, South Carolina. We always want new fellowship and visitors,” Jones said.

A group of women reunited today at the festival for the first time in a long time.

“We wanted just to come check out what was on the green, and we smelled the delicious aromas that were going through the air, so we just wanted to come check it out and see what was going on today and in the city of Lake City,” said resident Aisha Graham.

All the ladies attended Lake City High School years ago.

“Oh, we love to get together even though it’s a meeting,” Graham said.

Lake City’s mayor, Yamekia Robinson, said she hoped Saturday’s event brought everyone from the city and surrounding areas together.

“We want our families to come out and enjoy this venue out here on the village green and just have a fun time,” Robinson said.

The event wrapped up at 6 p.m. Saturday.
