CASPER, Wyo. — The Food Bank of Wyoming recently announced the promotion of Danica Sveda to the role of executive director. She had previously served as the interim director since mid-March.

Sveda brings more than 17 years of nonprofit experience to the role, working in education and workforce training, with eight years dedicated to development roles. Prior to education and nonprofit work, Sveda served as a helicopter pilot in the oil and gas industry and was recognized for rescue efforts during Hurricane Katrina. She earned her MA in Educational Administration from the University of Wyoming in 2016.

Outside of her professional work, Sveda is passionate about youth sports and coaches girls soccer teams for the Casper Soccer Club.

Since joining Food Bank of Wyoming as development manager in 2022, Sveda has helped facilitate growth in corporate giving, expanded the volunteer program and led the development team to increase overall giving, donor retention and strategic fundraising, the Wyoming nonprofit said in a release.

“I am excited to take on this leadership role at such an important time at Food Bank of Wyoming,” Sveda said. “I look forward to working closely with our amazing team members, volunteers, hunger relief partners and supporters to nourish all of our Wyoming neighbors who are in need of food.”
