ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Cascade Creek, a memory care community in southwest Rochester, hosted its Summer Kickoff Concert and Car Show on Thursday. The outdoor event featured classic cars, food by Jersey Jo’s, and a concert by the Rockin’ Hep Cats, who are a group of musicians from Dodge Center.

According to Cascade Creek Executive Director Tiffany Bell, Thursday’s event raised funds for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. She said, “In the previous years, we have raised somewhere around $2,500 each year for the efforts. We’re actually hoping that we can kick this season off and we’re hoping to double that this year.”
Bell said this is the third year that Cascade Creek has hosted outdoor concerts, but it is the very first year of including a classic car show. She said, “I think this event just really exemplifies what we stand for when it comes to Alzheimer’s and helping those who are living with some kind of memory loss, it’s not just about the person who’s living with memory loss. It’s also the families. It’s the community at large.”

Bell shared the cars featured in Thursday’s event are owned and showcased by local community members.
