
EVANSVILLE — The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. will once again be providing free summer meals at multiple locations around the city.
Meals are free to anyone ages 18 and under.
Sites will be closed for Juneteenth and July 4.

Food insecurity in Vanderburgh County
According to the latest data available from Feeding America, Vanderburgh County has an 16.2% food insecurity rating. This means around 29,110 residents in Warrick County do not have enough food due to either financial or other access-related reasons.
Out of those residents, 52% are above the SNAP threshold, meaning they do not qualify for assistance through it or other programs like WIC.
The data from Feeding America allows a population breakdown, including children. As of 2023, around 8,610 kids in Vanderburgh County were considered food insecure.
