MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Kids and families in Lake Mills got an up close and personal look at emergency trucks, SUVs, boats and even a helicopter.
Tuesday night’s event was part of “Touch the Truck” through the Lake Mills McDonald’s.

First responders got the chance to meet with the next generation of police officers, firefighters and emergency responders.
McDonald’s General Manager Cole Fenner, who is also an EMT in Juneau, put on the event with the goal of bringing the community together.
“It’s been a dream of mine to connect with the community here in Lake Mills,” Fenner said. “I wanted to find a way to connect [being an EMT] with my other job of being a GM with McDonald’s, and I found a way to do it with a community event, we kind of connected both and this is just simply incredible.”

While the community event is only in its second year, Fenner said the event has proven to be very popular.
“Everybody’s asking when’s it happening next. We had people coming back the day after last year saying ‘oh, is it tomorrow? Next week again?’” he said. “Were fortunate enough with the Lake Mills Fire Department that we could bring it back again this year and I hope to keep continuing this. It’s one of the biggest events they have here in town.”
All proceeds of the event went to the Lake Mills Fire Department.
Fenner added that he is looking forward to next years event and hopes to make it bigger and better.
