Double Up Food Bucks program expands to all Fareway locations across the state

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Double Up Food Bucks program has expanded to all Fareway locations across the state.

The Double Up Food Bucks program gives SNAP users funds to spend on “locally grown fruits and vegetables,” according to a release from the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative.

When a customer spends $15 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, they receive another $15 in Double Up Food Bucks, at participating sites only.

76 Fareway stores have joined the program, making every Fareway location across the state a partner in the Double Up Food Bucks program.

“We are always working to expand the Double Up Food Bucks program to more locations to reach more Iowans,” said Iowa Healthiest State Executive Director Jami Haberl. “This is one of the largest expansions in the history of the program, and it will help thousands of families across the state live their healthiest life by helping them bring home more fresh fruits and vegetables.”

All SNAP users are eligible for Double Up Food Bucks.
