The annual Ute Trails Car Show stirred up hype and brought in visitors on Saturday, featuring 188 vehicles in the field behind Zack’s BBQ in Hotchkiss.
The display of vehicles covered a visual history of the automobile, including uniquely modified entries and classically kept hyper-oldies, like the 1926 Ford Model T.

The Ute Trails Car Club also awarded scholarships to five area seniors: Logan McIntire of Cedaredge High School, Ryaunna Rhodes of North Fork High School, Ibrahim Sekhar of Olathe High School, Lane Stroh of North Fork High School, and Autumn Tietz of Cedaredge High School.
McIntire plans on a career in wildlife management and law enforcement. He wants to attend the University of Idaho and is involved in sports and his local community.
Rhodes plans to persue a career as a radiology technician. She wants to attend North Idaho College and is involved in sports and her local community.
Ibrahim Sekhar wants to pursue a career as an automotive technician. He wants to attend the Technical College of the Rockies and is involved in school activities and the community.
Stroh plans on a career as an electric mineworker. He wants to attend Colorado Mesa University Tech and is involved in 4-H, FFA and sports.
Tietz plans to pursue a career in nursing. She wants to attend Colorado Mesa University Tech and is involved in church and school activities.
