May 21 – Story Walk Kickoff

The StoryWalk program enhances early literacy for young children by combining reading and physical activity. It involves shared reading of picture books while walking along a park trail, promoting listening and speaking skills development. The initiative is partially funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library of Michigan.

June 7 – MHPD Bike Rodeo
10 a.m. – 1 p.m., 280 W. 13 Mile Road.
The 2025 Bike Rodeo features police station tours, free bike helmets for the first 200 children aged 12 and under, helmet fittings, bike inspections and registrations, a bike obstacle course, and free bike giveaways. The event also includes displays of police and emergency vehicles, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all attendees.
June 21 – City Wide Garage Sale
The City Wide Garage Sale is an annual event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., where community residents sell their items, and shoppers can find bargains. It encourages community participation and offers a chance for both sellers and buyers to benefit.
June 29 – Festival in the Park
7 p.m. – 10 p.m., Civic Center Park
The annual Festival in the Park at Civic Center Park invites everyone to join for an evening of celebration. Beginning at 7 p.m., the event will feature various activities and will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at 10 p.m.

August 15 – City Wide Golf Outing
8 a.m. rolling start, Sylvan Glen Golf Course in Troy
The Madison Heights Community Coalition is teaming up with Madison Heights Recreation to host the 36th Annual Golf Scramble, with proceeds supporting community events and prevention programs. The event features a four-person scramble, meals, and beverage tickets, inviting all golf enthusiasts to participate for a good cause.
