Publix recalls GreenWise baby food due to lead

(WTVY) – Publix has initiated a voluntary recall of GreenWise baby food pouches for potential lead contamination.

The recall includes GreenWise Pear, Kiwi, Spinach, and Pea Baby Food, produced by Andros LLC and distributed to Public grocery stores. The product is sold in 4-ounce plastic pouches.

According to Publix, the recall is being initiated after routine sampling and with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The product’s Global Trade Item Number is 41414-00901, and it has a best-used-by date of 11-01-2025.

Publix operates 1,404 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky.

Publix Director of Communications Maria Brous said there have been no reported cases of illness from these baby food pouches. Consumers who have purchased the product can return it to their local store for a full refund. Those with additional questions can call the Publix customer care department at 1-800-242-1227.
