SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – On Saturday, the Springfield Symphony Chorus hosted their third annual Spring Concert to benefit the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. We spoke with choir director Nikki Stoia to learn more about the event and what makes it so special to her.
“One of the things that we really try to do in this chorus, and also our parent organization, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, is to engage in the community. It is so important to us and really it’s an honor and a privilege to be able to have this opportunity to give this concert.”
Stoia grew up in the area and is very passionate about providing the community with an opportunity to come together.
“My favorite aspect of this is to see so many people come from so many different places, to hear what we have to offer. And, they get to enjoy a nice choral concert and do something good at the same time. What’s better than that?” she said.
