HARDY, Ark. (KAIT) – It’s Food Truck Friday! This week, we’re featuring Chapo’s Tacos in Hardy.
The food truck, owned by Ariel Housmann, has been operating for the past year at 203 E. Main Street in Hardy.
She spent the first part of her life in law enforcement and always wanted to start a food truck.
Housmann took a leap, and it worked out. Growing up at her best friend’s house, working at a Mexican restaurant and spending time in Texas inspired her to choose tacos as her focus.
Visiting the food truck feels like taking a mini vacation, and with the Spring River right in downtown Hardy, it may be the perfect vacation addition for some.
In April, flooding ravaged downtown Hardy.
During the recovery period, her food truck stayed in the area, giving out food to first responders and others in need.
“It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Housmann said. “I was glad to here and glad to feed them.”
Ariel’s truck is famous for her quesabirria, street, and shrimp tacos.
Chapo’s Tacos hours are Friday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
