Upshur County man arrested after threatening to ‘snipe those kids off one by one’ at school

BUCKHANNON, W.Va (WDTV) – An Upshur County man has been arrested after making threats towards children and his parents.

Andrew Hitt, 24, was arrested after messages from a Discord account were brought to the attention of the FBI, according to West Virginia State Police.

Police were notified by the FBI on Monday that they found the following messages on Hitt’s account:

  • “I could even kill my parents and smear their blood all over the walls”
  • “I live next to a school… I have had thoughts of how easy it would be to snipe those kids off one by one from my yard.”

On Tuesday, police traveled to Hitt’s residence on Teter Road, and he admitted to them that he sent the messages.

Hitt is charged with threats of terrorist acts and is currently in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bond set at $250,000.
