WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WECT) – A Whiteville man is $1 million richer after he bought a $30 scratch-off on May 2.
“I just got a wild hair and decided to buy one,” Kenneth Formyduval said. “Something just told me to get that ticket.”
Formyduval bought his MAX-A-MILLION ticket from Minuteman Food Mart on South Madison Street.
“It was like a once-in-a-lifetime dream,” he said.
Formyduval arrived at the lottery headquarters on May 5 and chose the lump sum of $600,000. After required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $430,508.
He plans to use his winnings to pay off his truck and possibly buy a house.
