The Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 is going up for pre-order today at Amazon for Star Wars Day 2025. During a special presentation in Japan, Ubisoft revealed the game’s new A Pirate’s Fortune expansion pack for all platforms while also confirming the game is coming to Switch 2 later this fall.
An official listing for the Star Wars Outlaws – Gold Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 popped up this morning on Amazon at $59.99 shipped alongside Amazon pre-order price guarantee – you’ll be charged the lowest price it drops to ahead of release no matter how much you lock it in for now. The game is set for an official release on Switch 2 come September 4, 2025.
Anyone surprised it’s listed for $59.99? I am.
This is the Gold Edition of the game. That means it includes the base game as well as the season pass that includes access to the Wild Card story pack, Jabba’s Gambit exclusive Day 1 mission, The Kessel Runner character pack, The Hunter’s Legacy bundle, and The Cartel Ronin bundle. It even includes the new A Pirate’s Fortune story pack that was just revealed and is set for release on other platforms later this month on May 15. Considering some games ported to Switch 2 have gone up for pre-order at $70, like the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, I am mildly shocked Ubisoft and Nintendo dropped this one at $60.
That said, the Star Wars Outlaws – Gold Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 is a game-key card release – the complete game is not on the card in the box, is rather being offered as one of Nintendo’s new Switch 2 Game-Key Cards.
We have already detailed exactly what this means previously, but the short-form version here is they do not contain the full game data, but rather just allow gamers to download the game they correspond to and then play them on consoles the Game-Key Card has been inserted into.
