Car show held in Summers Co. to support Council on Aging

HINTON, W.Va. (WVVA) – The gloomy weather didn’t slow down weekend activities in Summers County, as car enthusiasts and others gathered for a Car Show on Saturday.

This event’s proceeds will all be going to the Summers County Council on Aging, and it featured a variety of vintage vehicles, a booth to recognize veterans, and a chance to buy baked goods, barbeque, and hot dogs, trophies, prizes, and more. The Summers County Council on Aging’s Executive Director, Cindy Garrett, said the event will help them support the local elderly.

“It’s a great need. You know, you see how many people are really involved and really care about our mission with the senior center to serve the seniors in our community,” said Garrett.

The Car Show’s Organizer, Eddie Fernatt, explained that he wants to do his part to help his community.

“It’s just all about giving back,” said Fernatt.
